Welcome to Parc Solar Traffwll
Welcome to the construction communications project website for Parc Solar Traffwll, a consented solar farm located on the west side of Anglesey, north west Wales.
The proposals, which were granted planning consent from Welsh Ministers in March 2023, will bring renewable energy to over 11,000 homes and businesses, securing a home-grown supply of clean, low carbon electricity in support of Welsh Government’s net zero target to meet 100% of Wales’s electricity needs from renewable sources by 2035.
Parc Solar Traffwll consists of three development areas, two which are south/south-west of Bryngwran, and one to the west of Llanfihangel-yn-Nhywyn. The development areas are linked by below-ground cabling, which connects to the grid at Caergeiliog to the west.
The construction phase of the project will formally commence in February 2024 and run for approximately 14 weeks. The project website will be updated on a regular basis to provide real-time information on the construction works and any potential impact on residents.

Public Drop-In Information Event
We held a drop-in event for members of the public to find out more and ask questions on the construction works process.
The event was held on Thursday 8 February between 2pm – 6pm at Caergeiliog Village Hall.
Latest Update
We have been actively advancing (as you may have seen) our cable route, starting from the Point of Connection on Cymyran Road and proceeding along Holyhead Road/A5. By Wednesday, May 1st (at the latest), the works will have reached the start of the western entry onto Lon Bach (by the triangle junction of Holyhead Road and Lon Bach – as the below image shows, highlighted with the yellow star).
Upon reviewing the remaining scope of work, including the logistical challenges of operating near Caergeiliog Foundation School and the uncertainty of ground conditions, we have decided to postpone the remaining excavation. As a result, the team will complete the excavation activities to the point shown above, and will then remove their equipment from the area, and restore any affected areas to their agreed condition.
We are exploring the possibility of aligning the postponed phase with our upcoming construction activities to optimise efficiency and minimise disruption to the community.

Rydyn ni’n archwilio’r posibilrwydd o alinio’r cam gohiriedig â’n gweithgareddau adeiladu sydd ar ddod er mwyn sicrhau’r effeithlonrwydd gorau posibl a lleihau’r aflonyddwch i’r gymuned.
